Subject: FW: Clarification on the recent "Statement of Changes
in Immigration Rules as laid before Parliament on 16th March
2011".
Dear Mr Kapadia
Thank you for your email of 18 March.
There is no intention to change the approach to those seeking
Indefinite Leave to Remain under the terms of the HSMP ILR
Judicial Review policy document, we will ammend the Immigration
Rules to make it clearer that those who entered the scheme
between 3 April 2006 and 7 November 2006 are still required to
complete 5 years as the policy document states.
The statement of changes to the Immigration Rules laid before
parliament on 16 March 2011 do not come into effect until 6
April 2011, we will be able to use this time to make amendments
to the changes.
I hope this clarifies the position.
Kind regards
